SO.... Another year ahead of me, that's exciting!
No resolutions at this point - but I DO have a goal to "LOVE THE SKIN I'M IN". I usually do, cellulite and all -as long as I'm working out and eating right. -But 2008 I fell off the healthy wagon and I hate how I feel...not comfortable in my own skin... SO, I'm giving myself 12 weeks (until my 29th b-day) to really see what I can accomplish. I've always been into working out - but never really tried hard to accomplish a fitness goal (besides a race). I have a goal weight in mind, and a dress size -It'll be interesting to see if the weight and size match in the end...But mostly I want to be in a good routine and not be a slave to crappy food. -What a life long struggle! I don't want it to be a struggle anymore -And I think I've finally turned a corner!
I've decided I really need to rev up the cardio if I'd like to kick the pounds (10) that have been put back on over the last year! I'm going to get real about what I'm putting in, and what I'm burning. This will truly be a workout journal...(3) times a week will be dedicated to at least 60 min. of cardio (spinning, running, rotating stairs are my picks), (2) times a week weights & yoga, and one day maybe a mix of all three, but a lighter day....Not sure yet, but that's the game plan. This almost makes me want to put this back to private...It kinda feels embarrassing to know that 'anyone' can read this -very vulnerable to say the least - so I'm still debating.
I started better eating habits this week (basically cutting out sweets, drinking more water, and stopping mindless eating or eating when I'm bored or not even hungry), -got a great day of skiing in on Monday, and today had a great workout.... So here starts the log.

Workout:620 calories
-35 min. rotating stairs -level 10, 'fat burn' setting (intervals) -316 cal. burned (it didn't seem that intense)
-30 min. on the treadmill - this kicked my butt!
Basically I added a 1 min. sprint on every 5th min. and it went something like this:
Warm up 6.2 for 5 min. Sprint 10.0 for 1 min. Recover 4.2 for 1 min. Jog 6.0 for 3 min. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. After that last sprint (min. 25-26) I cooled down for a min. at 4.2, jogged at 6.0 for 2 min. and my last min. I ran at 8.0.
314 cal. burned (not sure how the machines measure cal. burned accurately -but whatever)

Food: (haven't gotten to the counting calories of this part...probably should!)
2 eggs w/ mushrooms, onion, broccoli, squash, 1 sausage pattie, 1 piece of wheat/grain toast, (2) 3" dia. whole wheat pancakes, (no syrup & the box said no sugars?), 1 large apple, protein shake -(1.5 scoops whey protein, water, 1 bannana, 1 tbsp. natural peanut butter, ice), 1 slice of ham, handful of raisins, 1 pretzel rod.
For dinner I think I'll fix a salad w/ a grilled chicken breast and eat a large orange for dessert.
And lots of water.

Grilled Chicken (leftovers) sliced on Romaine and Spinach w/ carrots, snow peas, tomatoes, broccoli, avacado & cilantro. Olive oil & balsamic vinegar for dressing. A 'cutie' for dessert.
I haven't had a lot of water though....
